BASIC PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP
Venue & Package
- Runs five successive Saturdays or Sundays
- from 9 to 4/5 p.m.
- at the FPPF Art Chamber, Fort Santiago, Intramuros, Manila
- Workshop I.D. that entitles the participant to a discount
on photofinishing at Fuji-Image Photolabs for three months

- Make your payment in person or by bank deposit

Photography participants the finer points of a digital SLR.
Workshop sessions
- Film or digital camera, preferably one that allows you to
set shutter speed and aperture manually. Check if your auto-everything
camera allows manual exposure override. Point-and-shoot cameras
(compacts) are acceptable, but discouraged.
- Film and developing are free.
The Instructors

Ador photographs weddings and portraits with the skill
of a craftsman who digs deep into a wellspring of knowledge
about the art and science of photographic lighting. It is
this same wellspring that he brings to his lectures on photography.
For besides being an expert photographer, Ador is one of
the mainstays of the FPPF faculty, having been one of the
lecturers when the Basic Photography Workshop was introduced
in 1995.

A photographer. A painter. A professor. A writer. A nature
lover. Mrs. Angeles is a regular lecturer in the FPPF photography
workshop at Fort Santiago, Intramuros, Manila. She has taught
Basic Photography here since 2002. At present she is the
head of Painting at PWU, adviser of PWU Kameradare, the
lone camera club in the University and handles Photography
1, Photography 2 and other Fine Arts subjects.

Joey is a graphic designer and photographer. As a photographer
he has done product, industrial, and architectural shots.
He teaches electronic media among other subjects at the
UP College of Fine Arts (UPCFA) in Diliman. He has taken
a pivotal role in the development and modernizing of the
Visual Communications curriculum of the UPCFA. As part of
a personal mission, Joey teaches the unpriveleged in the
rural areas practical lessons in the arts such as serigraphy.

Toch Arellano started his career in professional photography
at the age of 17. His first studio was at the family residence
in Eisenhower St., Greenhills, San Juan Metro Manila. He
initially started as a sports photographer but became a
successful commercial advertising photographer in the process
of his long career. Toch is also a sought-after portrait
photographer, people come to him for individual portraits,
couple shots, family pictures, PR photos and graduation
photographs.

A pioneer lecturer in the FPPF photo seminars, Vic has almost
attained the mystery of his craft. Very versatile, he handles
comfortably basic, advanced and digital photo seminars.
His forte is teaching posing for portraits whether for ID,
glamour, or casual poses. He emphasizes how to show the
grace of anatomy through bending of joints starting with
the neck, arms, torso, legs, etc. Along with these poses
are lessons on lighting both artificial and natural and
how to capture the right poses at the right moment.

Understanding composition: leading lines, rule of thirds, frames,
foreground and background, S-curves, patterns, light and shadow
Practice shoot on composition

Critique of photos from last session
Portraiture: posing
Lighting theory and practice
Using flash
Choosing filters for portraits
Hands-on shoot indoors and outdoors using studio lights, reflectors,
and available light
Day Five
Basic lighting, setup, using props
Flash photography & use of filters
Introduction to basic digital imaging
Critique and judging of prints
Presentation of certiticates of attendance, awarding of prizes
for photo contest
